In the following, there are several FAQs being answered that might be of relevance to you:
1. When and where will the IRU General Meeting take and Raiffeisen Seminar place?
The XVIth General Meeting of the IRU – International Raiffeisen Union will take place on July 3, 2026, from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm at the headquarters of Banque Raiffeisen, 4 Rue Léon Laval, 3372 Leudelange, Luxembourg.
The Raiffeisen Seminar will take place on July 2 from 13:30 to 17:30 pm at the headquarters of Banque Raiffeisen as well.
2. What will happen on July 2, 2026?
On July 2, 2026, IRU will organise a Raiffeisen Seminar from approximately 1:30 pm to 5:30 pm focusing on the theme:
“Membership and Member Engagement”
The seminar will include inputs from IRU member organisations, interactive discussions and exchange sessions.
Please note that a Preparatory Board Meeting takes place from 11.30 am onwards. This is for IRU Board members only.
3. Is participation possible online?
Yes. While IRU strongly encourages in-person participation to facilitate networking and exchange, virtual participation will also be possible for both the seminar and the General Meeting. The login links will be provided in mid June.
4. How can I register for the meeting?
Participants are kindly requested to register through the official registration form shared by the IRU Secretariat. Registration is important to support organisational planning, hotel coordination, transportation and possible visa support.
5. Is there a registration deadline?
Participants are kindly requested to register as early as possible. This helps the IRU Secretariat coordinate logistics and preparations efficiently.
6. Where can I find updated information about the meeting?
IRU has established an information section on the IRU website containing:

7. Which hotels are recommended?
IRU currently holds room contingents with corporate rates at:
- INNSIDE by Meliá Luxembourg
- B&B Hotel Luxembourg Cloche d’Or
The negotiated corporate rates are valid until June 9, 2026. After this date, room availability and pricing can no longer be guaranteed.
8. Can IRU assist with hotel reservations?
Yes. The IRU Secretariat will gladly assist participants with hotel reservations within the available room contingents. Participants are encouraged to contact the Secretariat as early as possible.
9. Can IRU support visa applications?
Yes. IRU can provide official visa invitation letters for participants requiring a visa to enter Luxembourg. Please contact the Secretariat early and provide valid passport details.
10. What are the main agenda items of the General Meeting?
The General Meeting will include:
- Activity Report by the Secretary General
- Discharge of the IRU Board of Directors and Presidium
- Elections to the IRU Board of Directors
- Constituent Meeting of the IRU Board of Directors
- Closing Remarks by the IRU President
11. Will elections take place during the General Meeting?
Yes. Elections to the IRU Board of Directors will take place during the XVIth General Meeting on July 3, 2026.
12. Why is in-person participation encouraged?
In-person participation allows for stronger exchange, networking and discussion among IRU members and partners. Particularly the seminar on July 2 is intended as an interactive platform for dialogue and cooperative exchange.
13. Will meals be provided during the IRU General Meeting and Raiffeisen Seminar?
Yes. Catering will be provided throughout the event, including coffee breaks, refreshments and lunch during the programme.
In addition, all participants are warmly invited to join the dinner on the evening of 2 July 2026, which will offer an excellent opportunity for informal exchange and networking within the international Raiffeisen community.
A selection of both traditional and vegetarian meal options will be available. We will, of course, take into account the dietary requirements and food preferences indicated during the registration process.
