Kick-off of the Raiffeisen Ambassador Pilot Training
On March 30th – the day of Raiffeisen’s 205th birthday – the IRU – International Raiffeisen Union launched its Raiffeisen Ambassador Pilot Training. IRU President Franky Depickere and Secretary General Andreas Kappes warmly welcomed more than 20 participants from various IRU member organisations worldwide to this flagship training programme. Among the participants are representatives from KUSCCO – Kenya Union of Savings & Credit Cooperatives, the National Cooperative Union of India, Association of Asian Confederation of Credit Unions, CERA CV, Rabobank, DGRV, IE-NO-HIKARI, the Austrian Raiffeisen Association, BRS – Belgian Raiffeisen Foundation, and Caja Popular Mexicana.
In an interplay of self-learning and networking, we are now emarking together on a journey through the cooperative world in order to be able to award the first Raiffeisen Ambassadors in autumn!
The Raiffeisen Ambassador Pilot Training is a flagship training initiative of the IRU. The half-year long modular programme provides a comprehensive training curriculum covering topics such as the entrepreneurial cooperative idea of Friedrich Wilhelm Raiffeisen, his principles and values, the relevance of cooperatives in the past and in current times, the important role of members as well as success stories and best practice examples. It further reflects on the cooperative difference and takes all of us into account how we can best apply the Raiffeisen principles and values in practice.
The training is especially designed to be interactive, featuring various inspiring methods which allows participants to learn, to connect and exchange ideas at the same time. We encourage all members of the IRU to participate in this fantastic training opportunity and continue working towards promoting and advancing the cooperative movement worldwide.
Congratulations to all the participants, and happy birthday to Friedrich Wilhelm Raiffeisen!
