He is the coordinator of the Masters in Management of Social Economy Enterprises at the Universidad Iberoamericana, Puebla, and a sociologist with a degree in Political Science and Public Administration from the UNAM.
For Carlos Piñeyro Nelson, transversal economics is his banner and he promotes the idea of benefits based on the social and solidarity economy. In addition to his work as a teacher and promoter of the social and solidarity economy, he has developed projects that have had an impact on social organisations in Chiapas and Oaxaca and on Latino and Mexican communities living in the United States, as well as promoting gender equality.
