The Raiffeisen Ambassador Pilot Training, organized by the IRU – International Raiffeisen Union, reached another milestone with the successful completion of its second live exchange session on May 24. This session, focused on the theme “Raiffeisen and the Idea of Financial Cooperation,” brought together a diverse group of 25 participants from various IRU member organizations.
The session explored the visionary ideas of Friedrich Wilhelm Raiffeisen in the context of financial cooperation. The participants engaged in dynamic discussions and knowledge-sharing activities, examining the key principles and practices that underpin Raiffeisen’s vision for financial cooperation and their relevance in today’s evolving cooperative landscape.
The session commenced with an insightful presentation on the historical background of Raiffeisen’s ideas, highlighting his pioneering efforts to establish financial cooperatives as a means to empower local communities and foster economic resilience. Participants gained a deeper understanding of the role of financial cooperation in promoting inclusive and sustainable development, particularly in underserved areas.
Throughout the session, participants actively engaged in interactive exercises, case studies, and group discussions, sharing their experiences and learning from one another. The diverse range of perspectives and expertise within the group fostered a dynamic and enriching environment, enabling participants to explore innovative approaches to financial cooperation within their respective organizations.
“The second live exchange session was a great opportunity to delve deeper into the principles and practices of cooperation, as envisioned by Friedrich Wilhelm Raiffeisen,” said Korbinian März, IRU Coordinator. “The engagement and enthusiasm of the participants truly showcased the commitment of our members to the cooperative idea”.
The Raiffeisen Ambassador Pilot Training remains a cornerstone of the IRU as knowledge building centre for its members. As the training program progresses, participants can look forward to the next session that will explore the Cooperative Difference. In doing so, the IRU continues to provide a platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and capacity-building to support the growth and success of its member organisations worldwide.
